Before your eyes is one of the most infamous street cars in Southern California. A 1974 Datsun 240Z stripped, caged, a small block Chevy and a little nitrous makes for a very potent weapon. For years this car has been tearing up of streets of our fair city with the motto "run what you brung and taking all comers". Imports and domestics alike have had their asses handed to them by this car.
Now having made it to the top and seeing very little late night competition they have decided to go legit. The new mission is the PSCA (Pacific Street Car Association) K&N Filters Street Challenge. Requiring true street tires, no drag radials here, these cars regularly run the quarter mile in the 10's .
After going out to get their feet wet and having the car fall flat on it's face the motor got a complete tear down. Years of abuse resulted in damaged heads a cracked block and a host of other problems. So out with the old in with the new. With the combined efforts of CPR Parts and SR Motorcars the beast lives again. Higher compression this, cam that, ported heads and a big Dominator carburetor. Now putting down more horse power than cubic inches with a bit of squeeze on top this car is ready to run with the big dogs. We wish the boys good luck this weekend. Bring back a win!
